Biography

Angélica Kolsan is a bassist, composer and sound designer from Puerto Rico. Angelica has stood out for her versatility, collaborating on various projects with artists in Puerto Rico as well as in New York, Santo Domingo, Madrid and Barcelona. In December 2021, along with two colleagues, she was nominated for Best Soundtrack at the Playstation Talents Awards in Spain for her participation as a composer in the video game Melodía.
As a bass player, her latest collaborations have been in Madrid and Barcelona with the artists Jorge Prada and Marina y su Melao respectively. Among her works as a ... session bassist is La orquesta Son Divas, a salsa group in Puerto Rico, Banco Popular's special edition of 2021, a widely recognized music documentary broadcast once a year. Currently, she is working on Émina's first record production, with whom she has released four singles so far. It is a quintet of instrumentalists who use their afro-caribbean folklore within their beats influenced by hip hop and electronic sounds. Among other releases such as the singles "A ti te gusta hablar" from composer and percusionist Dalí Marí and "Alas de abril" by the duo Klaro de Luna in collaboration with Emina, Cheryl, Lizbeth Roman and Andrea Cruz. The live album release from the group The Lazy Cats, an instrumental jazz/rock fusion quartet. Among others.
Angelica Kolsan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Popular Music from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico with a concentration in Electric Bass and minor studies in Music Business. In September 2021, she completed her official master's degree in Composition for Audiovisual Media at the Katarina Gurska Superior Center in Madrid, Spain, where she currently resides.
Her collaboration and/or recording credits include: Henry Cole, Son Divas, El especial del Banco Popular, Raymond Arrieta on Telemundo, Inter Metro Big Band, Josy Latorre, Brenda Hopkins, Mima, Fernando Madera, Sebastian Otero, Cafezz, Klaro de Luna, Calma Carmona, Dori Loli, Aleyda, Dalí Marí, among others.
