After years of listening to U2 and Train had left me with chronic otorrhagia and nearly deaf (which I later discovered was my body’s natural defense mechanism against such abuse) I thought I’d never be able to enjoy music again. One day I was at a brewery drinking away my regrets about listening to such noxious music as a young man when I started to hear the sound of a fiddle and the thump of a phat bass line. They were the first melodious sounds I’d heard since the morning before I bought Toxicity on CD in 2001! I looked up and saw a band called Brisk had begun to play. As their set progressed, my hearing continued to improve; the mellifluous voices of their singers and the virtuosic performance of their attractive and well dressed players were restoring what a youth spent mistreating my aural faculties with musical farce had destroyed. Absolutely phenomenal live performance! I've paid a lot more and gotten way less from nationally recognized names across multiple genres. They are clean, crisp and most importantly, FUN. Brisk is a high quality, polished, amazingly fun act! Do go out of your way to see them!
