CMMB – Cimbálová muzika Milana Broučka is one of the Czech Republic's leading crossover cimbalom ensembles, bringing together the rich traditions of Central European folk music with classical masterpieces, iconic film scores and legendary rock and pop hits.
Founded in 2014, the ensemble has developed a distinctive musical style that combines the authentic sound of the cimbalom with the energy of a modern concert performance. Every programme is carefully arranged to surprise audiences by seamlessly connecting different musical worlds.
The repertoire ranges from traditional Czech, Mor ... avian, Slovak and Hungarian folk music to works by Brahms, Paganini and Offenbach, famous film music including Once Upon a Time in the West, Pirates of the Caribbean, James Bond and Schindler's List, as well as original arrangements of songs by Queen, Metallica, Deep Purple, Europe and many other international artists.
The musicians are graduates of leading Czech and Slovak conservatories and universities, including the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU). Members of the ensemble perform with prestigious orchestras and chamber ensembles, including the National Theatre Orchestra in Prague, the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra and internationally recognised chamber groups.
CMMB has collaborated with numerous distinguished artists, composers and orchestras and regularly performs at festivals, concert halls, theatres, corporate events, gala evenings, weddings and private celebrations throughout Europe.

Biography

CMMB – Cimbálová muzika Milana Broučka was founded in 2014 with the vision of presenting the cimbalom in a fresh and unexpected way. While deeply rooted in the traditions of Czech, Slovak and Hungarian folk music, the ensemble has developed a unique crossover style that combines folk, classical, film, rock and pop music in original arrangements.
The members come from different regions of the Czech Republic and Slovakia and are graduates of leading conservatories and music universities, including the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU). Alongside CMMB, they perform with renowned ... orchestras, chamber ensembles and theatre productions, bringing extensive concert experience to every performance.
Today, CMMB performs throughout the Czech Republic and internationally, appearing at festivals, theatres, concert halls, corporate events, weddings and cultural celebrations. Their energetic performances, virtuoso musicianship and original repertoire have made them one of the country's most distinctive cimbalom ensembles.
