does so through the following experiences; As a solo act (vocals & backtracks), a duo (vocals and keys or guitar), or with full band instrumentalists and DeeVah as lead vocalist for her performance band that accompanies her only upon request, for fuller performance sound/ presence and wider audiences which performs under the name “DeeVah Band”. Beyond that, she has been performing locally and internationally at an array of venues and events/ occasions with various duos, bands, orchestras and individuals for over a decade (10 years), who share the same artistic and musical vision as she does. DeeVah also writes, composes and co-producers all of her original material and has been blessed enough to share her story and entertain the masses through her music. WHO IS DEEVAH?
DeeVah (Dembe-Tshilidzi Thakhathi), is a vibrant female Artist from Pretoria, South Africa. DeeVah is of TshiVenda (Limpopo) origin and is many talents in one. She’s an internationally established Singer/Songwriter, Performer, Recording Artist, Producer, Poet, Composer, Entertainer, Psychology Graduate, Student Social Worker, Student, Community Developer and Humanitarian. She plays versatile music genres that are fit for any crowd, client and or occasion. She absolutely loves to engage in various events and clients, as well as fans/ supporters that add value to her repertoire ... and overall experience as a singer and performer. One of the biggest highlights for DeeVah’s career was receiving a prestigious international scholarship to study Musical Theatre (music/singing, dance and acting) at the renowned New York Film Academy institution in New York City, USA. She was
discovered in South Africa by director of admissions, and was offered her scholarship as the only African being selected to study at NYFA in her year (2016). However, she's currently based in her home city, Pretoria, Gauteng, where she grew up as well. She travels around South Africa and other Countries for her love of music, performing and overall passion for being a global nomad who is inspired by travel, culture and new
experiences.

She has released her independent Debut Album titled the "The Prologue" in 2017, which is out in all online stores and in hard copy. Following the success of her lead single "Faralela"(A Venda Lullaby)" - sung and written by DeeVah, in her native tongue- TshiVenda. Her musical narrative and genres range from; Jazz, Soul, R&B, Afro-Pop/ Afro-Soul/, Pop, Deep House Fusion and African. She performs with a plethora of professional and talented individuals, tailor making any live experience that may be required of her; from her solo, duo, trio and even full band performances. In 2022 DeeVah then released her second body of work titled “FREEDOM - EP” which she also independently recorded, wrote, sang, produced and release independently via her record label. The primary single from her EP “HAYANI” raising the bar and setting the tone for her live incorporation of a band and instrumentalists playing throughout the record. All of DeeVah’s music can be found on all streaming platforms across the globe, including Apple Music/ iTunes, Spotify, YouTube/ YouTube Music, Tidal, Amazon, Deezer, SoundCloud, Instagram, TikTok and others. Since then, DeeVah has also released other notable singles, collaborations with various artists and is currently working and producing on her official third body of work.
This third project of hers is still an ‘untitled’ Album with it’s first single “It Is Well With My Soul” being released in 2024. This single has earned multiple streams and downloads, as well as high critical acclaim and recognition as a tribute.
