HIS INFECTIONS RHYTHMS AND CATCHY CHORUSES HAVE PEOPLE FROM AMERICA TO RUSSIA RUNNING TO SHAKE THEIR GROOVE THANG. THE BILLBOARD CHART TOPPER IS A MIXTURE OF SINGER, DANCER, SONGWRITER AND ALL AROUND ENTERTAINER.
ERIC BEGAN HIS CAREER ON TELEVISION’S WELL KNOWN DANCE SHOW “SOUL TRAIN”.
He has parlayed his initial success as a teen-age regular on the show into a four-decade career that includes the 2017 club hit, “Right Time" and the 2010 club hit "Breathe". At the tender age of 16, Redd had become a regular on Soul Train, sharing the stage
... with people such as Rosie Perez, Miki Howard and some of the future members of Shalamar. From these early beginnings with the help of Don Cornelius, Eric was thrust into the high powered world of professional dance. One of the first black ballet dancers to grace Europe, he danced the classics with Ballet de Marsellise, Royal Winnipeg Ballet (Canada) and the Hamburg Ballet. He went on from there to London’s West End, starring in such hits as Cats, Starlight Express and My one and Only. It was there, that Redd turned increasingly to singing, landing a contract on Jive Records UK and releasing a club-friendly cover of Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave a Lover.” After two years with Jive Records, Redd, who realized the label was more into Rap moved onto writing, singing backgrounds and being an opening act for artists like Ani DiFranco, Sara Lee (of the B-52’s), the Pointer Sisters and KD Lang. In 2008, he completed his first full-length Dance album, Across the Water, for German label, White Noise. Virtually simultaneously, he was asked by Danny Seraphine, the original drummer of the band Chicago to become the lead vocalist in California Transit Authority (CTA), and to start recording their new CD. While touring Redd caught the ear of Dance Music honcho, Rod Carrillo. With this meeting, Redd’s first foray into classic rock was also complemented by his return to club music. His house and electro-infused single “Breathe” (Carrillo Music) produced by label head Carrillo, reached number #32 in the Billboard dance music charts and featured a video directed by celeb director Dustin Robertson, Within the next few years, Eric traveled the world guesting with all star acts, writing for feature films and television all while continuing to create a dance music catalog for himself on Carrillo. His catalog now includes such dance floor favorites as “54”, “ All Over” and “I don’t care. In 2015 he began his band “The Movement” to finally get out into the world with his own sound….Electronic house. Traveling non-stop and working with such all star DJ’s as Eddie Amador, Ralph Rosario, Liam Keegan, and Fenix,, the Movement has become a dance floor filler, that compliments Live players with technology infused rhythms. To the surprise of many,, they get to hear the records in their actual form while watching as Eric twists, turns and tears up the stage. A mixture of Rick James, meets Nile Rodgers, with a bit of Prince, You're sure to run to the Dance Floor and join the party..
