I also have a mic, and a receiver that can be plugged into the decks of your pre-booked DJ, to create an even louder sound to accommodate bigger g ... roups of people at parties.

Biography

Gemma is a professional saxophonist and clarinettist from London, England. She graduated with a BMUS degree (hons) from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2012. Gemma is a highly accomplished player in both Classical and Jazz, as well as Swing, Pop and Funk. She is very well-versed in both sight reading and improvisation. Her influences include the luscious, velvety sounds of Ben Webster as well as the emphatic pro sounds of Michael Brecker and David Sanborn. Gemma represented her country in the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain at the tender age of 17, and has been playing p ... rofessionally for the last 10 years at a variety of functions, including weddings and corporate events. She most recently opened for a very highly-regarded cooking business, @tarasvegantreats. Gemma would like to continue her work in bringing venues to life through her first-class performances as part of function bands, as well as in her solo background music, and her DJ Sax performances.

I have been performing at function events for about 10 years now including anything from birthday parties to weddings to performing in clubs with DJs. I have also performed at corporate events, baby showers, bridal showers and in restaurants and bars.

Previous Clients

My most recent client was Tara's Vegan Treats (Instagram @tarasvegantreats) which is a very successful vegan cooking business with over 27,000 followers on Instagram. I performed for an hour at the opening of one of the client's supper evenings in East London. A restaurant full of guests enjoyed their slap up 3 course vegan meals whilst listening to my versatile setlist handpicked by the client, including a mixture of Swing tunes by Glenn Miller, Motown tracks by Stevie Wonder, old sax classics like Careless Whisper and of course more modern tunes like Miley Cyrus' Flowers. My love for playing music began at age 6 when I first picked up a recorder in school, and then catapulted at age 9 when my parents bought me a clarinet. I later progressed onto the saxophone.
Other facts about myself:
1. I volunteered as a Samaritan for 2 years.
2. I am currently writing a children's novel.
3. I love spending time with my family.
