Guitarist with the RAF, have perfromed at the RAH, Buckingham Palace (3X) and the RNCM. Specialising in jazz/big band repertoire I am completely comfortable with reading in all clefs, chord symbols/lead sheets and with improvising. I can also sight read bass guitar.

Description

I am the guitarist for the RAF Squadronaires and the Central Band of the RAF. I also perform with smaller jazz and function bands as well as provide wide ranging set options as a solo guitarist - Jazz, Soul, Classical, Latin and Gypsy styles are my specialities. I can also offer set lists tailored to your own requirements.
I read fluently in treble and bass clefs, as well frequently play both rhythm and improvised lead from complex chord symbols in a variety of settings.
In addition I play banjo, bass guitar and french horn.

Experience

Numerous performances in shows, including Sister Act, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Sound of Music.
I perform regularly at Buckingham Palace for drinks recetions and garden parties. I have also performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Alexandra Palace and the Palladium.
I have recorded regularly, primarily in big bands, but also in folk groups.
I have experience running jazz bands, and leading workshops at both school and conservatoire level.

Meet the Act

After twenty years' full time music teaching experience, largely at Benenden Girls' School (alma mater of Princess Anne) I joined the RAF Music service in 2023.
Following on from a very succesful and enjoyable start with the RAF I am now looking to further develop my performing experience. In order to facilitate this I resigned from my position at Benenden (effective from September 2025). I'm available for dep work before then, and will be looking for more substantial bookings thereafter.
