Biography

Jacqueline Duckworth is an emerging Dramatic Soprano. She has studied a BMus, majoring in Performance (Classical Voice) at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, under the tutelage of esteemed international soprano Professor Lisa Gasteen (OA).
Whilst completing her degree, Jacqueline has performed as part of the chorus for QCGU’s opera productions of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel (2015) which was directed by Opera Australia’s director Michael Gow & conducted by Johannes Fritzsch, Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (2016) and the Val Machin Opera Scenes (2019).
As a solo performer, she was inv ... ited to perform both the Australian and New Zealand National Anthems at the 2013 Redlands ANZAC Day Dawn and Day services. Similarly that year, Jacqueline was the featured classical vocalist in Creative Generation: State Schools On Stage, which included performing Beethoven’s Ode to Joy with a supporting 600-voice choir. Over the last couple of years, she has generously donated her time to perform at a variety of Pleasant Sunday Afternoon concerts at the Cleveland Uniting Church. Her recognition as an emerging dramatic soprano within her community resulted in Jacqueline being invited to perform as the lead classical soloist for both the 2017 and 2018 Redlands Christmas By Starlight, where she collaborated with pianist and musical director John Foreman (OAM) and rock guitarist Rex Goh.
In 2017, Jacqueline launched her own concert series which saw highly successful performances of her concerts Celtic Dreaming, La Rose Mystique and Musical Memories. Additionally, 2017 saw Jacqueline in her solo operatic debut performance with the Redland Sinfonia at RPAC in the concert Maiden Voyage. Branching out into musical theatre, she performed as Stepsister Joy (understudy) and in the Ensemble in QLD Musical Theatre’s production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Jacqueline also undertook the role of Virginia as part of Beenleigh Theatre Group's 40th Anniversary production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! in 2018.
Jacqueline has a highly extensive choral background. Beginning her choral journey at the age of 9 in the Vocal Manoeuvres Academy (VMA), under Alison Rogers, and continuing to be a part of this extraordinary company for the next 10 years. Significant choral performances included Holst’s The Planets at the Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore (2009), part of the Children's Chorus Havergal Brian’s Symphony Number 1 (The Gothic) in the QPAC Concert Hall and Britten's War Requiem with the Queensland Youth Orchestra.
She has worked as a backing vocalist for Australian soprano Mirusia Louwerse in her Australian Home Tour (2012) and My Favourite Things Tour (2014). Jacqueline was also a backing vocalist for the QLD Pops Orchestras’ 30th Anniversary Concert and the Brisbane Lord Mayor's Christmas Carols in 2014. Corporate events included singing Christmas carols at the Mater Foundation Christmas Breakfast, performing on Hayman Island for the Christmas period and various other charitable events.

Jacqueline is amazing. She entertained myself and guests performing Abba songs at my Mumma Mia party. Everyone was up dancing 💃. I definitely recommend her if you want to have an entertainer who listens, then goes above and beyond to satisfy her clients.

Jacqueline Duckworth was engaged to sing at my daughter's wedding in January 2017. The ceremony was held at the Victoria Park Garden Marquee. Her performance was exquisite, and she created the magic and romance around the occasion. Jacqueline was very professional and helpful throughout. She provided a number of beautiful wedding songs and arias to select from. At the rehearsal she was very knowledgeable about how to present a successful performance at the venue. I am very pleased we had a rehearsal, as during Jacqueline's rehearsal performance the Bridal party and parents were all moved to tears, luckily we were then prepared for the emotion of her performance at the wedding. The bride chose two pieces of music to be performed during the signing of the register - The Prayer, and You Raise Me Up. Jacqueline's performance of both pieces was amazing, and a highlight of the ceremony. Her voice is both powerful and shimmeringly beautiful. I received many compliments on Jacqueline's ...
