Singer/songwriter/piano player - perform originals as well as covers from primarily classic rock genre: Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Aerosmith, The Beatles, Journey, Foreigner, Rush, STP, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Elton John, Black Crows, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Sammy Hagar, Imagine Dragons, Toto, Prince, Foghat, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden/Audioslave, etc.

Set-List

I have about 300 songs in my set list but I have done Tribute bands for Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Toto, James Addiction and Rush - but can pretty much do any rock and roll covers.

Biography

Professional vocalist who has studied and continues to study speech level singing with Brett Manning, Tom McKinney, Seth Riggs, etc.
Singing for rock bands as well as working in musical theater.
Additionally, working as a vocal coach specializing in rock, hard rock, heavy metal, and blues.

Was recently cast in a film called The Fortune Teller Jason R. Martinez and Mark Tomov.
I played a smaller role of a Hustler/street shark collecting money - it was a fun Tarantino type film.

Meet the Act

I am a singer-songwriter and pianist whose career has primarily centered around serving as the frontman for rock and roll bands. Beyond music, I have a deep passion for acting and musical theater, which have allowed me to further explore storytelling and performance.
I am currently signed with AMPU and work with producer Nash Overstreet on my original music.
My solo catalog is available on all major streaming platforms under the name Jason Werkman.
In addition to my solo work, I collaborate with several bands both locally and remotely. One of my current projects includes a hard rock ... band based in Houston, which has brought me on to complete vocals for their upcoming EP and perform live shows with them.
My long-term vision is to continue growing my solo career to the point where I can tour regularly and share my original music with audiences around the world. In the meantime, I stay active by performing with four different bands, primarily playing classic rock covers, which allows me to keep my vocal skills sharp while doing what I love. At the same time, I have been steadily building my audience on Spotify and expanding the reach of my original music.
I also teach voice on a limited basis.
Having served for many years as an associate vocal coach for Tom McKinney, I occasionally continue working with dedicated students when the opportunity arises. Currently, I teach two professional female country artists who are signed to record labels.
My specialty is mixed voice technique
-the seamless blending of chest voice and head voice to create balance, power, resonance, and vocal freedom.
Because of the commitment required to master this approach, I generally work only with serious adult students who are willing to invest the time and effort necessary to achieve meaningful growth.
At the end of the day, my goals are simple. I want to spend my life doing what I love: singing, writing songs, performing, and connecting with people through music. I am not chasing fame for its own sake. My greatest reward is stepping on stage, making the crowd sing along, dance, and forget their worries for a while.
If I can continue creating music, inspiring others, and loving what I do every day, I will consider that a successful life.
