My entertainment runs the gamut from classical keyboard music to lite jazz/broadway/pop vocals. My repertoire is varied enough to accommodate many client requests. In addition to my skill set as a musician, guests will delight in my microphone candor and ability to entertain all ages.

Biography

Louisville native and Director of Music, John Austin Clark is an active piano/vocalist, conductor of both musical theatre and operatic genres, and performs regularly throughout the Louisville community in various venues. A trained practitioner of the Baroque, Mr. Clark founded and led Kentucky’s premiere Baroque orchestra, Bourbon Baroque, for sixteen seasons (2007-2023). He can be heard on the Naxos/Centaur label.

Experience

My entertainment experience has run the gamut of accompanying music school students of all ages in recital, directing musical theatre, opera, and oratorio and of course my virtual shows online during the COVID19 shutdown. Covid is truly where my cabaret singer/pianist persona was birthed and in a way I am grateful for the opportunity it gave me to pause, re-evaluate my gifts, and turn on what had been silent and hidden behind the classical musician facade. My previous clients have included folks in need of a cocktail/dinner pianist at private homes, restaurants, and country clubs. I have been hired to curate fun gameshow nights at bars with my favorite "Name That Tune" with live piano music as I host and navigate the different groups competing. I curate wedding music for ceremonies and receptions. My background in classical music lends itself perfect for somber reverent settings, and my zest for the theatrical is a perfect compliment to parties.
