I can provide you with piano music in a range of styles. I am classically trained with a Masters degree from the Royal College of Music, but I can also provide background jazz, songs from musicals or films, or arrange pop songs for solo piano.

Biography
John Cuthbert enjoys a highly varied career performing as a soloist, piano accompanist, chamber musician and orchestral pianist. His career has seen him performing around the UK and the rest of Europe from chamber venues like the Wigmore Hall in London, to larger halls like the Shostakovitch Hall in St. Petersburg.
John attended the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied solo piano with Andrew Ball and piano accompaniment with Simon Lepper and Roger Vignoles. After completing his studies there he was accepted onto the Foyles Future Firsts scheme with the London Philharm
... onic Orchestra with whom he continues to perform several times a year. He was also awarded a place on the Samling Artist programme, where he had the opportunity to work with James Bailieu and Christopher Glynn.
Performances also include projects with the Meritus Trio, which John formed in 2016 with James Greenfield and Jade Cuthbert. Recent projects have included using ballet music alongside narration by the trio’s members to tell the stories of The Nutcracker and Swan Lake.
Besides performance, John has also worked as a repetiteur with Opera in Oborne, English Touring Opera, Independent Opera and the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival Company.
As a pianist who works in opera as well as art-song, John always looks for the story that music can tell, whether it is explicit such as Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition or one to be found by the performer and the listener, even in an etude or a prelude and fugue.
