I am a South African-born performer. I started my training as an acrobatic gymnast at age 6 and over the years I have accumulated dance, cheerleading, and aerial skills. I have been performing in the dance industry for 9 years and in the aerial industry for 4 years.

Biography

I started my training as an acrobatic gymnast. I trained under Russian coaches and competed nationally and internationally for 8 years. From there I joined a hip-hop dance crew and continued to compete, but also started my dance career. Since then I have been in the dance industry for 9 years. In 2020 I started my aerial career where I found my duo partner, Vaughn Hurly. As an individual, I have been performing for 4 years and as partners, we have been working and performing together for 2 years. Between us, we have roughly 20 acts together, solo and duo.

Kimmy is an amazing performer with immense amount of skill in dance, aerial and theatre. She has performed in a numerous amount of our in-house productions as well as our corporate functions. She is a dedicated, hardworking and passionate artist. She is an absolute delight to work with.

Experience

For both dancing and aerial I have performed all over South Africa.
I have performed for corporate events in Cape Town, Knysna, Durban, and Johannesburg - some places including Monte Casino, Big Top Arena, and SunCoast.
I have also traveled to perform in Zimbabwe and Tanzania
Majority of my aerial performing has been for The Cirk where I have been a part of multiple in-house shows.

Meet the Act

I was trained as an acrobatic gymnast by Russian coaches when I was 6. They always told me that talent was 10% and the rest was hard work and determination, so naturally, I grew up with that mentality and carried it with me throughout my life.
I competed in gymnastics, dancing, and cheerleading both nationally and internationally until I finally found my passion for performing and chose to do that full-time. I had been performing in the dance industry when Covid hit and found the best way to fill my time would be to take on something new - which is how I found aerial. I soon fell in love with ... the danger of the art and enjoyed the way I was able to blend my gymnastics and dancing experience. I have been performing aerial for 4 years now and would now like to take it all over the world, learn from multiple people, and share my love for the art with whoever and wherever I can.
