Description

I am a well-rounded acrobat who is comfortable in the air as well as on the ground. As an aerialist, I specialize in lyra (aerial hoop) and silks (aerial fabric). On the ground, I can perform: partner and group acrobatics, tumbling, hand balancing, pole and I can walk a slackline. I am available for ambient/atmospheric work, filming for promotional material as well as choreographed stage shows.

Experience

In high school, I did gymnastics and was on the wrestling team. In college, I did competitive cheerleading for the University of California, Irvine and Magic All Stars, a privately owned gym. I was a gymnastics and tumbling teacher from 2001 to 2011. From 2010 until the present, I have been an acrobatic performer and an instructor of tumbling, aerial arts and partner/group acrobatics for dancers. Meet the Act

As a child, I was fascinated by acrobatics. I always wanted to flip, climb and jump off of everything in sight, like a ninja! After my first gymnastics lesson at a community center, I was hooked. Between lessons, I would practice at home. I eventually developed enough skills to become a gymnastics teacher, working with primarily middle and high school students; I did that for 10 years.
I eventually developed a wrist injury and so I sought a different way to stay active; that is when I discovered aerial arts and acrobatics. The pulling motions of circus arts was a great counterbala ... nce to all the pushing motions of gymnastics. The experience not only gave me new abilities but also helped heal my injury.
After training with the acrobats of Santa Monica Muscle Beach, I caught the eye of the American Acrobats and Enrichment planet in 2010. From that point on, I began to perform more regularly, sometimes with just a partner, other times with a larger group. After discovering circus arts, I purchased my own equipment so that I could continue to train outside of the studios where I learned and also, to begin teaching myself.
Between shows, I remain an acrobatics and aerial arts teacher who sometimes brings his pet iguana to class to meet the students. I like traveling, learning new skills and working with different types of people. I take safety and my work seriously but in my personal life, I don't take myself too seriously and am often the punchline of my own goofy jokes. I love riddles, puzzles and problem solving but when it comes to business, I prefer to avoid problems; I do all I can to get clarity upfront so misunderstandings and disagreements can be avoided in the future.
