Biography

Founded by industry professionals Harvey Coates and Tulsi Talbot, Mayura is a multi-genre music collective that provides music for a variety of functions, delivering top-tier performances fit for any occasion.

Mayura specialise in acoustic music across a broad array of styles including pop, jazz and folk. We provide performances for many different events and functions, including (but not limited to):

- Weddings
- Corporate Events
- Parties
- Ceilidhs

Harvey and Tulsi met at the University of Surrey, graduating in 2021 and 2022 respectively. Tulsi studied Music and was heav ... ily involved in events management and performing, whilst Harvey studied Creative Music Technology and specialised in composition, sampling and production of acoustic music. During their time together at Surrey they would frequently collaborate, with Harvey playing in Tulsi's bands on a number of occasions, thus forming the bedrock of Mayura.

My husband and I booked Mayura for a birthday celebration. Harvey and Tulsi introduced our party with our chosen sentimental songs. The performances were exceptional, the music was appropriate for the occasion and their finale of Van Morrison’s ‘Moondance’ stole the show! The guests were super impressed by the show too. Thank you both, see you next year!

The highlight of my 40th birthday party. Lots of guests commented on how great they were, and everyone from my Dad to my work colleagues were dancing to them. The band were flexible and easy to work with from start to finish. I sent them my party playlist and they selected a set from within the songs. they were able to do a wide range of genres, and performed all songs brilliantly. I can't thank them enough!

Meet the Act

Harvey is an Anglo-Indian guitarist and music producer from Bristol with a strong background in folk music and traditional folk instruments. Initially training as a classical guitarist, he currently plays electric guitar in post-punk band Shtëpi, alongside undertaking various music production projects for a number of different artists, including himself.
Tulsi is an Anglo-Indian actor and musician from South London. She trained initially as a classical flautist and singer before developing a passion for folk and music theatre whilst at university. Currently, Tulsi works as a professional p ... erformer, is working on her debut EP and works with young people to help them cultivate their creative potential.
