From humble beginnings, Monique Denise’s love for music began at a very young age. She was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. Being brought up in the church Monique’s sound is very soulful, which embodies where her passion for soulful R&B was born. She loves music as a whole and enjoys all genres. Monique Denise is a true fighter, diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2017 then again in 2020 with stage 4. Her belief is "It's now or never" and she is "living life to the fullest with no regrets". She tries to exemplify this in her music. This is where her original, “Journey” was born. She wanted to give hope to those who were and are going through a life battle such as cancer or anything similar. She wants to remind them they can make it through and not to give up the fight.
Monique Denise believes singing and music is a way of expression, a way to get away when words and people can not ease the pain. She sings to help others believe, find joy and hope knowing that anything is possible and that they are not alone. Every time she performs her goal is to touch someone and make them feel better than they did before.
In February of 2019 Monique Denise met and began performing with her fellow band mates Rashard Lavender (Keys and Key Bass), Terio De’Shon Hunt (Guitarist) and Micheal Walker (Drums). The quad performs regularly every Saturday and does many private shows around town. They have a unique and special bond that allows them to connect in a way some search for years to find. Experience

I have performed with major entertainment companies locally such as PRI and others. I have performed at the Apollo in New York City twice and held a regular residency at a local restaurant for 2 plus years which is consistently maintains a nice crowd. I know how to control a crowd and engage them.
