Description

I have a John Denver tribute show that was endorsed by Annie Denver. My other tribute show is “Storytellers”, which features the music of Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, James Taylor, John Denver, and others.
I recently performed with Renee Armand and Rick Armand in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with our new show: "Lost Love Lounge" at The Palm Cabaret in March of 2022.
I also perform from the Great American Songbook, for upscale parties and events, on both piano and jazz guitar. I performed for the Miss California pageant for multiple years.

Biography

I'm an accomplished guitarist, pianist, vocalist, and overall musician. I've been playing guitar since I was 9 years old, beginning with classical and then teaching myself different styles. I am also adept at performing American Standards on jazz guitar. I am proficient on the piano and bass as well, but my first and truest love will always be guitar. I perform regularly, solo and with different bands. My shows have sold out theaters in Colorado, Tennessee, California, Massachusetts, and Mexico. I have also headlined with Renee Armand and her brother, guitarist Rick Armand. I have many years o ... f recording studio experience and I am also a talented orchestrator.

The Palm Cabaret was full of friends, admirers and fans for the Opening Night of these three returning musicians/songwriters: Renee Armand, Paul Aleman and Rick Armand, Renee's brother. Each one is more than capable of shining solo in their own bright light, but the combination of energies and interwoven talents brought the crowd to its feet at the concert's end, with many still wiping their eyes. Now I can’t wait to see the movie “Rocket Man,” the story of Elton John that everyone is raving about. What a concert at Incanto last Saturday starring Paul Aleman interpreting Elton John’s music! I am used to seeing Paul play guitar at his many appearances in Vallarta over the years. I told Paul after his show that I wish there had been a video overhead showing his hands on the 65-pound keyboard he literally hauled down from California. His fingers flew for sure. Elton John has been performing for more than 50 years; not much of my life has been lived without his music - in the background, playing somewhere. At Paul’s concert, I was able to really concentrate on the complicatedness of Elton John’s repertoire. Often the music seems to go in one direction and the voice another and at different speeds. Experience

The experience I provide for any given booking depends on the booking itself. My performance at funerals differs very greatly from one you will see when I perform at a wedding or party. For performances I have given onstage, people who have attended often tell me that they were moved to tears more than once during the show, and that the way I presented the music evoked emotions they didn't expect to feel.

Previous Clients

I have headlined, along with Renee Armand, in two sold out shows at The Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee. I have performed my tribute shows, "Country Roads: The Music of John Denver," and "Storytellers: The music of the 70s Folk Rock Scene," in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at The Red Room Theatre, The Palm Cabaret, Incanto Theatre, Luna Lounge and The Tree House Bar and Grill in Bucerias, Mexico. I also performed the John Denver show In Ajijic, Mexico. I headlined at The Bennett Farm Concert Series in Massachusetts in 2015. My John Denver tribute show was featured in Aspen, Colorado at the ... John Denver Celebration in 2015.
In New York City I have worked as a composer/lyricist, as well as musician, for several theatre projects, including "Dillinger: Public Enemy Number One," "Fetish," and "Carmilla" working with playwright, Joel Gross, and directors Wayne Cilento, Sergio Trujillo, Gabriel Barre, Michael Unger, and music directors Phil Reno and Jim Abbott. My musicals have been staged in New York at The York Theatre, The Dramatist Guild, Ripley Greier Studios, and The Duke at New 42nd Studios. Lou Diamond Phillips starred as John Dillinger in my musical "Dillinger" in 2009 at The York Theatre and I served as his personal assistant.
I have performed for The Miss California Pageant several times, as well as countless private events through the years.
