Biography

Samuel (Sam) Mattison is a Drummer and Bassist who enjoys playing various styles of music including Gospel, Jazz, R&B, Funk and Pop. Sam began drumming at the early age of 2 years old and started playing in church shortly afterwards; but it wasn’t until he became a teenager that he started exploring the bass guitar.
In 2001, Sam attended the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, South Carolina and in 2005, he graduated from Brevard College with a BA in Music. While living in Greensboro, NC, Sam taught General Music Ed. for Guilford County Schools and served as the Drummer/Musical Director at ... Spirit and Truth Worship Center before relocating to Springfield, VA.
While in the DMV area, Sam is currently serving as Bassist/Percussionist at Messiah UMC and Bassist for the band Organized Music. Additionally, he's played with a few local artists and bands such as Floppy Disk, JaySoul and Susan Derry, and served as Bassist/Musical Director at iNgage Community Church.
When not on stage, Sam enjoys watching TV with his wife Pia, horse playing with his boys Sam Jr., Greylin and Major, and shopping for musical equipment.
