Biography

Sandy is an extremely professional artiste, who has been singing and performing to audiences for most of her life. Recently been voted Best Female International Singer - Uk by Global Entertainment. Her first Public performance when she was only 5 at Castle Howard, Leeds in front of Les Dawson. After getting the Bug for performing she continued in theatre performing professionally at the age of 9 in the role of Annie at Newcastle Royal. Sandy also competed at a National Level in Gymnastics alongside her formal training in singing and dance, and as she grew, became the triple threat with Sin ... ging, Dancing and Acting. After the death of her Mother at just 11 years old, Sandy went through a challenging time and used her performance in theatre to hide what was going on in her home life. At age 18, she moved from the North of England to work for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London after her step parents advised her to “get a proper job”. Sandy used this move to follow her dream and continued performing including some top stages on the West End in London such as the London Palladium. She has had leading roles from Sandy in Grease, Narrator in Joseph, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance.
Sandy took a long break from singing after her marriage failure to bring her children up and focus on them. After her son had a serious accident she gave her job in as a Bank Manager but all through this time she never lost her passion and started her successful Performing Arts School, Adlib which focuses on confidence boosting and self esteem of students producing 2 shows a year in Theatres.
After meeting her current Partner she initially joined the function/show band he was in as their lead singer which reignited the passion for performing live. Alongside this she quickly became the “voice” and was asked to perform solo in different venues from public to private, intimate sized venues to large Corporate Venues. Her solo career has since leapt forward, and with over 400 songs currently in her repertoire has the ability to adapt to most styles. She has since performed around both the UK and internationally from private functions to 5* hotels and Cruise Liners with names such as Jurys Inn, Le Maya Grotta Hotels, Corfu, Thomson Hotels, Mercure Hotels. With an extremely varied and large repertoire spanning from easy listening ballads, big show stopping ballads, to modern day hits and classic floor fillers, Sandy can work with you to create a bespoke set perfect for your event, so that you can simply relax and enjoy the occasion knowing that the music is covered.

Also available as a High Tech Duo, with both parties from professional backgrounds.
VOCALIST – Corfu, Greece – May 17 – present. Performed in hotels and venues around Corfu ... from lounge sets & easy listening to full Evening Shows performing Broadway and Movies, to Classic Party set from 50s to present day. Mostly Thomson Hotels as their sole entertainer.
VOCALIST – Stenna Horizon – December 2016 and rebooked December 2017 Ireland/France – Performed here as an Entertainer – where during the day I organised and ran “kids Clubs” from craft days to party dances and then produced and performed the evening entertainment from Lounge singing sets to full party/disco sets ensuring everyone had a time to remember.

OCTOBER 2015-PRESENT – Education Welfare Officer. I worked term time across various primary schools ensuring that pupils are present in school and going through the necessary legal processes to enable us to achieve this.
MARCH 2013-JULY 2015 – I worked as a Support Worker/Teacher for 2 brain Injury teenagers where I work on a 1-1 basis teaching them the GCSE syllabus in a non-academic dynamic manner through game, song, sport and any other diverse way enabling them to achieve their potentials.
SEPT 2006 – PRESENT: ADLIB PERFORMING ARTS
I started Adlib Performing Arts up after performing for many years on the stage and wanting to give something back in return. It offers classes in dance, singing and drama from the age of 5 to 18+. I also have experience within Special Needs, from Asperger, ADHD, ADD and Autism.
The emphasis is on the development of the students’ self esteem, emotional growth and moral development. Students embark on a journey of self-discovery through their arts and work together to produce full-length family orientated shows in a non-competitive environment. I also train students to teach and choreograph their own dances with some of them now being employed as teachers. There are currently around 60 students through the school, and employ 4 student teachers. I also manage all the administrative duties.
Through Adlib I used to teach dance at various schools across the region covering PPA time, PE lessons, lunch-time and after school clubs. I taught various year groups showing that dance can be fun but learning at the same time. They learn different styles of dance from Salsa, to Street Dance and Stage. I was monitored by Ofsted at Abingdon Primary School where it was reported that they were impressed with my teaching skills, enabling both boys and girls to be enthusiastic and committed towards their learning.
