The Capital has some of the best academies for vocalists to be found anywhere in Europe and the competition for places is high. For singers interested in developing their abilities, there's the Royal Academy of Music, with its specialist departments for musicians and singers or Goldsmiths - University of London which runs a variety of day and evening courses. London is very lucky to be the home base for one of the very best Choirs, namely the London Philharmonic Choir. With an international reputation for excellence, this Choir performs all over the world in major concert venues and is frequently televised as they support solo singers.
