Description

I am a solo freelance performer and I can add that extra degree of excitement and polish for the events listed below. I can provide a set list of music for your special event (length of set list and content of musical material can be discussed). I play mostly classical, klezmer, and popular music on clarinet and as a baritone voice I sing on occasion. I am mostly familiar with R&B but I also perform popular, indie, and alternative rock songs. Length of set list and content of musical material for vocal performances can be discussed as well! If sound equipment is not provided I can bring my own ... setup. More than happy to answer any further questions you might have.

Biography

I obtained my undergraduate degree in music performance from the University of Redlands and I received my Master of Music degree from California State University, Fullerton. I am a classically trained clarinetist by trade. After graduating CSUF, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a Marine musician and I served for 4 years. I played in about 380 gigs annually and I honed my musicianship further thanks to my military service. I've had the privilege to travel and perform in France as well as record for a recruiting commercial at Fox Studios' Newman Scoring Stage in Los Angeles. I've ... played for senior officials, community events, and the annual Tournament of Roses Parade, among other things. This took place during some of the best years of my life. Since my end of service in 2022, I've resumed freelance work as a musician and an instrumental music instructor.

Meet the Act

I initially started playing clarinet in elementary school because I could fit it in my backpack, but I've come to love it for its sound and versatility. I took voice lessons during undergraduate school and developed a passion for singing as well. When I'm not playing music I'm reading, checking out craft breweries, or staying active outdoors. My favorite R&B artist is Musiq Soulchild and my favorite classical composer is Gustav Mahler. Performing music for others is a huge passion of mine, can't imagine doing much else.
