Up The Beat are a soul, motown and disco band based in Hampshire. We spend a lot of time constantly improving our set, choosing from only the best of the best classics of Funk, Soul, Motown, Disco as well as current chart hits and we guarantee an energetic, packed dance floor. Our set list includes great tracks from Aretha Franklin, Bruno Mars, Otis Redding, The Doobie Brothers, Pattie Drew, Adele and lots more.
We play many high profile events, weddings and parties throughout the year, and we stand out with our strong vocal harmonies, a tight brass section and an energetic vibe. We're als ... o fully contained with a professional PA system and stage lighting rig, and we bring a sound engineer with us to make sure the music sounds just right for each venue, every time.

Biography

Up The Beat were formed in Hampshire over five years ago and we've remained as the go to band for weddings, functions and corporate events. We combine impeccable musicianship together with a passion for motown, soul and disco music that has helped us to grow an avid fan base.
Our vigorous wedding and private schedule hasn't prevented us from staying 100% true to our home county of Sussex, and you can find us creating havoc in the local watering holes. One of our greatest strengths is our ability to dig into what makes a song a classic and to recreate, not just the sound, but the soul of a ... song and to get everyone else up and dancing.

"I booked the band to play on Saturday 18 Feb 2017 at the University of Southampton's Anniversary Ball for Southampton Medical School. The booking process was smooth and prices were very competitive especially for a charity event. The band was fabulous and played songs for all ages which was important as we were inviting guests from 1976-2016! The dance floor was full right to the end of their set and the band were even coaxed on for an encore by our rather keen guests! I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Up the Beat and will certainly be booking them again very soon."
