I learned how to sing when I was 10 years old. I start singing ópera arias and classical music when a was 12 years old. I performed Opera arias from Mozart, Bizet and Puccini.
Also from Beethoven, Mahler and many others artists.
I used to sing in a choir for a long time in a country ( Venezuela from El Sistema) where music is the main thing.
