Cherie plays folk, orchestral, and electro-acoustic harp music in a variety of styles: Celtic, Jazz, Pop, Light Classical. She records with songwriters around the world and has played at venues from Yellowstone National Park to Hollywood since 1982.

Description

Cherie has been an event harpist since 1982, beginning with trade shows and weddings and playing summers in Yellowstone National Park, while running the musician/interpreter program there. She's been a featured guest at college harp workshops and has been interviewed on the radio. She stopped counting how many weddings, funerals, wineries, restaurants, hotels and concerts she has played in when it added up to over 300 a decade ago. Her harp music is known for being soothing and healing and yet she is at home playing in a rock band or a symphony orchestra. Cherie plays favorite songs from many ... decades and writes original songs by request. She would love to help you add that special something to your event. She is completely set up with instruments and equipment for Virtual gigs.

Biography

As Grandma Mermaid, Cherie performs as a Female, Aquatic Mister Rodgers, helping children and the young at heart enjoy the wonders of oceanic tales and creature facts from around the world with songs and puppet friends. For private clients she teaches Marine Biology over ZOOM and is comfortable doing Grandma Mermaid Events virtually. In her town she has heard children say, "There goes the mermaid!" when walking by. Her platform is the message that everyone is loved and that ocean clean up and care is the responsibility of all.

Acting Experience

My degrees are in Communications and teaching Theatre and Language Arts. As an Undergraduate I matriculated in Musical Theatre Performance. I've acted virtually and onstage - mostly in comical roles. I've written and directed plays and musicals and have designed costumes and/or props for many shows. I established and run my town's Community Theatre's Children's Summer Theatre Adventure.
