I had no idea what to expect, it was over the top!!!! You never cease to amaze me!!! Awesomeness, is all I can come up with!!! It really was awesome!!! The outfits were sooooo Creative!!! Just an all around Good show!!!!

A flamboyant burst of color, feather boas, heels, song, and laughter, entwined with a bit of drag, joke and a tribute to Ricky Martin, hugged the beachside venue of Off Key Tikki, in the form of humorist’s Ike Avelli’s “50 Shades of Gay”, proved to be “the performance of the summer.'

I recently booked Paul for an old boys annual Dinner. The age range was from 52 to 87. To say that the show was wonderfully entertaining is an understatement and Paul was given a standing ovation. His magic is fascinating and his comedy very funny getting many laughs. Everyone in the audience thanked me for a wonderful evening and said it was the best after Dinner entertainer we had ever had. I would recommend Paul to anyone who wants a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Plug showed up way before schedule and sat patiently waiting. Although it was a loud party and folks insisted on talking, he kept the jokes coming and he was very professional. Everyone said he was funny.

An exercise in knowing one's audience, and trumping one's own stereotypes, Two Brunettes & a Gay was so tongue-in-cheek it was deep throating itself. In an evening of salacious, ostentatious and fabulous entertainment, this self-professed "cabaGAY" show took audiences gleefully through generations of songs accompanied with a delicious cocktail of personalities. Despite this reviewer's reservations regarding the sobriety with which their place in the audience was taken, the evening was pure enjoyment. Sisters Deanna and Celeste Kangas tripled up with Aaron Collis during their days performing for children, but have discovered similar talents shaking up the city of churches with their bawdy humour, individual personas of ballbreaker, bitch and booze-hound respectively, and polished vocals. The audience were more than willing to vouch for them and get on board with the jokes of the evening, even getting involved in the sauciness themselves as each performer showed the chops to tackle a rowdy bunch of 10pm Fringe-goers. A delectable evening, fraught with the kind of debauchery and delirium that makes you want to take both your extramarital lovers!

Thank you so much BUBBLE for your wonderful performance at my father's birthday party. You had the whole audience in stitches from start to finish, and my father still talks about you to this day.... He had a ball - than you so much once again....LESLEY HARRIS

Comedian turned storyteller Dylan Brody’s entire persona seems transported from a calmer, more measured period. He doesn’t go for the shock-and-awe approach of so many stand-up comics, nor does he cultivate an affected, deliberately weird persona like the denizens of alt-comedy circles. What he does only vaguely resembles stand-up at this point, even if he still plays comedy rooms. With his rumpled, hangdog delivery; restrained demeanor; and incisive wit, the playwright, novelist, and performer is often compared to monologist Spalding Gray. Brody’s stories mine humor and pathos from even the most mundane transactions, with a sensibility that is humane and dryly absurd. Within a single routine, he can veer from autobiography into satirical flights of fancy before returning to the personal. There’s an undercurrent of political outrage to Brody’s stories — he moonlights as a Huffington Post blogger, which should give a hint as to his political sympathies — but he doesn’t use the stage as a soapbox. With calm remove, he cuts through the bullshit and reveals the very human motivations behind the challenges of daily life, whether the antagonist happens to be the world’s dumbest (and most polite) mugger, meddling agents and Hollywood suits, or society at large.

Spell is a fine and engaging piece of work, involving at every level. These are finely observed pieces, from the dreaminess of 'Faraway Eyes' to the vaudevillian feel of 'Excuse Me, Mr Hart', calculated to find favour, I think, with publishers and film makers, if not with A-list radio programmers. Spell is just what it says, both literal and magical. It deserves our fullest attention. A very fine record indeed.
