Biography
Bob Reneke, Mr. Sinatra's long-time personal assistant, says, "This guy has Frank's style and snap, nobody else has it."
On June 12, 2014, Gabriel Russo won the "Frank Sinatra Idol Competition" held in Frank's hometown of Hoboken, New Jersey. He competed against 15 other performers from around the States and Canada. In 2015 he was called to perform in "Frank Sinatra Park" in Hoboken for Mr. Sinatra's Centennial Birthday Celebration.
Born in the Philadelphia area a long time ago, Gabe now lives the artists life in the perfectly manageable mountains north of Atlanta.
"I wa
... s born in the fifties in the Philadelphia area, I come from a showbiz family. My aunt sang with the Dorseys and my father was a saloon crooner of renown up and down the East Coast. My Grandmother was a costumer and my uncle was a not-well-known stand-up comic who fell a distance from the tree. From 1960 to around 1967, I received vocal instruction from choir master and vocal coach, Stoddard Smith. I was a soloist in the St. Johns Cathedral men's choir. At that time I performed as a soprano. I also began singing, tuxedo and all, with my father around this time. My father, also Gabriel Russo said that was because it was cheaper than paying a babysitter.
My dad and Paul Richardson, who was pianist/organist for the Philadelphia Phillies and Junie Price, a well known pianist working mostly in Philadelphia and the surrounding area, were my earliest influences.
We continued to perform together, through different permutations, into the 1980's. We performed in nightclubs all over the northeastern seaboard; New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland, mostly. Most often at 'The Cafe' Continental', 'The Latin Casino', 'The Crescendo', 'The host Farm' and more that I do not remember..
I also played in Rock bands, singing lead vocals and playing Bass and electric guitar. I learned audio technics. Performed as a solo acoustic act in the U.S. South for Coffee Houses, Fairs and Expos. I was honored to be an on-air auctioneer for WFSU T.V. in Florida and was the opening character, twice monthly, on a live radio show that aired on Public Broadcasting. This was the award winning "Mountain Music and Medicine Show", outside Atlanta, Ga. for over twelve years. I very briefly hosted my own T.V. show on local T.V.."

Experience
I've been performing Frank Sinatra's music for 21 years. I've sung with the 'Atlanta Swing Orchestra',
'The Noteworthy Swing Band' and the 'Showband of the South'. Over the years the bands have
"dis-banded". I still, occasionally, perform with "live" musicians for 'one off' shows, but mostly I perform with the tracks. They never hit wrong notes or change tempo mid song. The audiences don't seem to mind the lack of a band and clients are happy not to spend extra for the band.
Previous Clients
I have performed at Theaters in Georgia, The Blue Ridge Theater in Blue Ridge, The Jasper Theater in Jasper Ga. , and The Holly Theater, Dahlonega, Ga.. N. Carolina at The Highlands Theater, S. Carolina The Walhalla Performing Arts Center, and a lot of others that I can barely recall. I've performed from New York to Key West. Only as far West as St. Louis.

Acting Experience
I have been an actor since 1973 when I played an orderly in "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest". I've been blessed to portray a number of leads onstage. These include Nathan Detroit (twice) in "Guys and Dolls", Jeff Douglas in "Brigadoon", King Arthur in "Camelot", Emile de Becque in "South Pacific", Oscar Madison (twice) in "The Odd Couple", The Old Man in "A Christmas Story, Manolo Costazuela in "The Odd Couple, Female version", Matt Friedman (twice) in the Pulitzer prize winning "Talley's Folly", and many others. These range from Community Theatre to various levels of Actors Equity. ... Mind, none of them "Broadway" level.
