Description

I'm Mario Meruna, a professional drummer based in Berlin, originally from Austria. I've spent my career on stage, in the pit and in the rehearsal room, and I bring reliable timing, a strong groove and a real love for live performance to every gig.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Drums (Pop Music Design) from the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg, one of Germany's leading institutions for popular music. Before that, I trained in Jazz/Pop at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt.
On stage
Touring & live shows: I perform and tour with artists including Gregor Hägele and Kati K, playing ... everything from club shows to larger stages.
Musical theatre: I've played in productions such as Sister Act and Die Cher Show. That work demands precision, consistency night after night, and seamless playing with click tracks and backing tracks.
Cover & party bands: I play regularly in cover and event bands with a broad repertoire, covering pop, rock, funk, soul, Latin, jazz and dance classics. I adapt quickly to any audience and setting.
What I bring:
I'm a versatile, well-prepared and easygoing band member. I read charts fluently, pick up new material fast and feel at home with in-ear monitoring, click and playback setups. I'm flexible, happy to travel and open to engagements in Germany and abroad.
