Scoop's stage show combines conjuring with comedy, danger and mind-control turning members of the audience into the stars of the show as they participate in incredible illusions and death-defying stunts.

Biography

Scoop took up magic in 1988 after buying the Wizbit magic book and became a professional after leaving university (not Hogwarts!) in 2002. He was the resident jester at Camelot Theme Park and Park Hall Hotel for nine years regularly performing for crowds ranging from small handfuls up to 3,000 people from small children to pensioners and everything in between. Meet the Act

When I was growing up my dad used to make a coin disappear and reappear behind my ear, plus Paul Daniels was on prime-time Saturday night telly so when I saw a magic book for sale at a school book fair in 1988 I had to have it! I performed my first magic show that Christmas and from then on I did everything a could to get my hands on every magic book or set that I could find.
I gave it up during my teens when I was "too cool" to do magic and focussed on either being a journalist, rock star or rugby player but they didn't come off because I don't like being stuck in an office, I'm musically ... talentless and I'm 10 stone wet through! Thankfully I'd started performing shows at Camelot theme park and David Blaine had made magic cool so when I finished my journalism degree in 2002 I thought I'd see if I could make a living as an entertainer. I re-took up the magic and learned other skills such as juggling and fire-performance as well as other crazy stunts.
I was the resident juggler and magician at Camelot until it closed in 2012, performing for crowds of up to 3,000 people and have since gone on to perform all over the UK and beyond in every situation you can imagine. I've performed for Olympians on the One Show, worked with Peter Kay for a Channel 4 programme and worked as a magic consultant for a programmes for David Jason on ITV. As a lifelong Wigan Warriors fan a personal highlight for me has been performing as part of the pre match hospitality at their stadium, where I get to meet both past and present players, I even had the opportunity to be part of the end-of-season celebrations after winning the league!
