Biography

James Haslam trained as an actor at Rose Bruford College. He has been performing cabaret since
2004 in Londons hottest cabaret spots including Pizza On The Park, The Pheasantry, Pizza Express
Live Holborn, St James Theatre, Camden Festival etc.
His self penned show James Haslam’s Clutching Pearls was nominated for a Whats On Stage Award
in 2011.
Acting credits include: Guest appearance in Yorkshire TV’s Heartbeat, Charles II in The Libertine
ICA London, Dalek Commander in The Evil Of The Daleks, Theatre Royal Portsmouth.

Ours is the largest Elvis festival in the world with around a hundred Elvis Tribute Artists taking part. Established in 2004, the highlight of the event is the Elvies Award Show. In 2019 we created a new diversity award and presented it to Elberace. Being honest, I was concerned how our audience of die-hard Elvis fans would support an act outside of the orthodox box. However, Elberace blew the roof off, both at the award show and also at the live show BBC broadcast from the Festival. We brought him back last year and the audience reaction was the same. Outside of actual performance , professionally as a producer, I found James very easy to work with. 100% professional and reliable

I engaged Elberace (Gay Elvis) to perform live on BBC Radio Wales which broadcasts The Owen Money show , live , from the world famous annual Elvis Festival at Porthcawl in South Wales . We are always joined by Elvis tribute acts and James was fantastic – he was a real crowd pleaser and went down such a storm with the audience that we invited him back for a second appearance in 2022 , after we had a break because of Covid . I was really impressed at how he turned up in plenty of time and he looked great in his full Elvis rig . He did a lovely interview with Owen and really entered into the spirit of our show .

'We booked Gay Elvis for Southampton Pride 2022 and were absolutely delighted with his performance, professionalism and pazazz! The crowd adored him and from an organising committee's point of view, he was a dream to work with. The communication was great all the way through the process, he was quick at responding to requests and sending tracks and promo material and we would highly recommend him to anyone! Needless to say we have booked him again for Southampton Pride 2023 and can't wait to have him back!

Elberace approaches each virtual show with high professional standards as would be expected with any live performance . Shows can be live feed or pre-record to watch and keep send to you in Mp4 or Mpeg format.
