Description

I offer violin performance in a variety of venues and music styles. I go by hourly rate or by a fixed rate that depends on varying factors such as transportation and total time commitment, which can be arranged by the hiring team. My going rate is $200 an hour for most events, when this does not account for transportation.

Biography

Timothy (Eli) Willis is a classically trained violinist with a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Boston University as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. A passionate and accomplished performer, Eli has held leadership positions such as Concertmaster of the Boston University Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and has performed with ensembles including the Evansville, Richmond Symphonies and the Apollo Orchestra. Eli is also a prolific performer in weddings, recordings, and concerts, including with International artists s ... uch as Zuill Bailey, Anna Fedorova, and In-Mo Yang. His musical journey has taken him on international tours with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra three separate times, to regional as well as national competitions, and to the finals of the 2025 Claude Debussy Competition Paris and the 2024 International Artists Competition Vienna. Eli studied under distinguished mentors such as Peter Zazofsky, Kevork Mardirossian, and Lynn Chang, and has performed in masterclasses with leading artists including Guillermo Figueroa and Ann Setzer. He is currently based in Chicago and is actively pursuing a career as a performer and collaborator in the orchestral, film, and studio industries.

Experience

I have performed globally in some of nicest concert halls the world has to offer as both a soloist and with orchestra. I also have performed plentifully in weddings, receptions, private events, and many more special occasions as both a solo act as well as alongside others in the form of a small group. I have been hired professionally since I was 12 years old and offer a unique string sound, adaptable to any occasion.

I offer violin lessons at 30 minutes or hourly rates of $45 and $90 respectively. I am happy to teach via Zoom or video call as well as in-person in the Chicago area. I can teach students of all ages and skill levels, as I have experience with a wide catalogue of students.
