Biography

PRETTY IN PINK are a 6-piece band bringing the best of the 80's and more decades where it fits the bill with vocals of the fabulous Mika Mamon and Daniel Hunt who also provides guitar and keyboards. Together they create a vocal soundscape vital to that decade and can cover any track from the era, supported by the neat guitar of Peter Bond, metronomic drumming of Paul Lewis, impressive keyboards of Richard Bailey and bouncing basslines from Dave Cannings.
Members of the band have featured alongside Oasis, Foo Fighters, Tom Jones, James Arthur, Altered Images, Depeche Mode, Texas, A Flock of ... Seagulls, Bastille, Tina Turner and more, as support, session musicians or live so there is a fab pedigree and some great stories from them and you are assured of an event full of competent professionalism and ultimate fun!
Clients, in addition to dozens of happy couples at weddings and anniversaries, families at events, and festival organisers, have included Coca-Cola UK, Jaguar-Landrover, Sports Clubs, David Lloyds, BBC & Chanel 4, Sky News, BBC Tees, and Waitrose in addition to parties of the tastefully famous including Delia Smith, Hugh Grant, Cliff Richard and Bono. About Mika
Mika is a singer songwriter and performer, originally from the Philippines now settled in Saltburn on the Yorkshire coast.
A nurse by profession, her solo work can be found at www.mikamamon.com.
Born in the 80's, her love of 80's music continued when presenting her show on Kiss FM.
Described in the media as "a cross between Bjork and Kylie Minogue" and as "Asia's answer to Madonna" Mika is the perfect fit to front an 80's party band.
The Band
Daniel Hunt - Guitar, keys, vocals
Daniel brings his experience as a producer, session and live musician with 80's favourites like Yazoo, Generation X, A Flock of Seagulls, Depeche Mode, Gary Numan and Sigue Sigue Sputnik to the team and performs like he's still there on stage in 1985! Also adds guitar, keys, sax and harmonium.
Paul Lewis - Drums, percussion, vocals
Paul was born clutching a set of drumsticks, has metronomic timing and has played with mostly 90's bands admittedly and, no. you're not mistaken, he does look very much like U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr. Also plays a pretty mean guitar and adds harmonies to the overall sound.
Peter Bond - Guitar
Peter is the joker in the band, is great with the audience and loves the 80's even though he was just a baby at the time.
At 9 years old he witnessed Pete Townshend's exhilarating stage presence at Live 8, changing his life forever. He knew he wanted to make music and soon after picked up a guitar. He's not put it down since!
Richard Bailey - keyboards
Richard has played around the world but settled on Teesside. A regular on the session circuit he's played live with people like Tom Jones, Black Eyed Peas, Blur, The Police and The Shires. An all-round consummate professional with an 80's twinkle under those fingertips.
Dave Cannings - bass, vocals
Dave brings the final touch to a solid backline, essential for any get-up-and-dance event. Perfectly complementing the solid drums of best friend Paul, he brings the band a history of playing since the 70's and perfectly adds that 80's rhythm to the band. Read More
