Biography

A graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire, Rik studied with international classical guitarists Craig Ogden, Simon Dinnigan, Brian Whitehouse and composers Andrew Downes and John Mayor.
He performs for both events and the concert stage, and is well known for being a truly versatile musician. Whilst classical guitar is his main focus, Rik is also a top acoustic fingerstyle player, a soulful electric pop/rock/blues player, a blues/jazz pianist, a bass guitarist, a keen ukulele player and finally, a country pickin' 5 string banjo player.
He is an active composer with a string of international ... radio, TV and online credits to his name for his music in advertisements, documentaries and information films.
As a guitarist, his versatility means he can skip between genres, styles, techniques, and moods flawlessly, as demonstrated on his 2015 album 'Worlds of the Guitar'.
In his solo concert performances, he combines both classical and cross-over repertoire covering a whole range of styles from baroque to blues, classical, Spanish, jazz, folk, world music and popular. He also features a number of his own compositions.
A former 'Young Musician of the Year' contestant, Rik has performed across the country and overseas, and he is one of the few British musicians to have been invited to perform in Belarus, in 2010.

Rik Roberts has more than 30 years performance experience, including weddings, events, recitals as a solo guitarist, to festivals and shows with rock, blues and jazz bands. He is one of the few British musicians to have been invited to perform in Belarus, in 2010. He has a number of albums to his name and his own compositions have been used in TV, radio and internet adverts, documentaries and short films in various countries. His music and guitar playing can also be heard in hotels and resorts around the world as a contributor to a well known royalty-free music library.
