Meet the Act

I love to be on stage. I'm married. It's the only time I get to finish a sentence. I began my comedy career in 1991 with my first open-mic-night. There was more desperation in that room than in the entire country of Ethiopia. I had stage fright to the point that I could not finish a three minute set. I moved to Atlanta to attend open-mic-nights at The Uptown Comedy Club and Comedy Act Theater. The black audiences hated me! They booed me off the stage week after week and made me tough as nails on stage. Those early days in Atlanta would pay dividends the rest of my career. Thank you, Atlanta!
