STAGE/CABARET MAGIC SHOWS:
Matthew's magic shows are customized to the event, venue, audience size, etc. They involve amazing mentalism and mind reading, unforgettable magic props, and many hilarious and magic surprises! Depending on the venue/event, show typically include the set-up of a mini-theater, including pipe and drape theater curtains, banners, a Bose P.A. system with wireless mic., and all necessary tables and supplies. All shows include audience participation and create long-lasting memories for your guests!
STROLLING MAGIC:
Strolling Magic, AKA "Mingle Magic", "Roaming Magic ... ", "Roving Magic", and "Walk Around Magic": Matthew roams around the party performing card magic, coin effects, sleight of hand, mind reading, and mentalism. It's a great addition to large groups like corporate events, mixers, weddings, restaurants, and holiday parties. Strolling magic helps "break the ice" for clients, business prospects, new friends, employees, and co-workers.
CLOSE-UP MAGIC:
A close-up magic show is similar to strolling magic, except that the magic is performed for a smaller audience all at once, oftentimes sitting around a table. It involves magic commonly used in strolling, plus a few other magic effects that are too cumbersome for a pocket. This is most commonly booked for groups of 10-15 people and smaller dinner parties.
PARLOR MAGIC:
Parlor magic is also commonly called "Stand-up Magic", or "Living Room Magic". Matthew's Parlor Magic involves some magic props, close-up magic, and unforgettable mind reading. It's a magic show on a smaller scale, without the full stage and curtain set-up. Most commonly booked for smaller groups, business meetings, smaller company parties.
MIND READING/MENTALISM:
Matthew King's mind reading will make you and your guest believe he might REALLY HAVE the special gift! He reads the minds of 9 people at once by determining what playing cards they are each THINKING OF, causes two volunteers to feel each others sensations telekinetically while their eyes are closed, and predicts the future with your guests! Biography

Matthew King's lifelong passion for magic began at age 7 when he was captivated by a magic effect that left him determined to uncover its secret. Fueling his curiosity, he began devouring magic books at his local library and received his first magic kit shortly thereafter. His eagerness to learn led him to perform shows for family acquaintances, and at 12 years old, he was asked to perform his first paid public appearance in 1994.
At age 16, Matthew auditioned for his high school talent show with a "Substitution Trunk" stage routine, which he and his assistant won first place. The following ... year, he took on the challenge of building a new routine and bought plans for an illusion, "Cutting a Woman in Sixths," which he had a carpenter friend build for him.

At 17, Matthew's father took him to audition for The Magic Castle's Junior Society, where he performed an act with doves and visual effects that featured his "Cutting a Woman in Sixths" illusion. His mesmerizing act earned him a spot in the prestigious society, which held meetings at the Victorian mansion nestled in the Hollywood Hills, complete with an extensive magic library.
Also in his teenage years, Matthew King was privileged to attend a David Copperfield magic show in the year 2000, which became a significant turning point in his magical odyssey. He was fortunate to be summoned to join Mr. Copperfield on stage for a comedic slow-motion skit, and subsequently, was introduced to him by a peer illusionist after the show, an experience that has undoubtedly influenced his artistry ever since.
During his senior year of high school, Matthew King competed in a countywide talent show, where he took first place, and also won first place at a citywide competition, garnering attention from the local newspaper. Just days after graduating high school, he was hired by an entertainment production company to perform at Playland, an amusement park in New York. Following the end of the season, he relocated to San Diego in 2001. In 2006, his daughter was born, who now provides him with an audience to practice his magic on.
