George has been performing for over 40 years, and Alex has been involved in magic for more than half his life. Together, we have over 60 years of combined experience in magic, mystery and entertainment. We specialise in close-up magic, mix-and-mingle entertainment, table magic and walkabout magic.
Our natural father-and-son bond creates a warm, entertaining and memorable experience that works brilliantly for audiences in all sorts of situations.
Our goal is simple: to make your event special, get people off their phones, create laughter, and give your guests some exciting “wow” moments they’ll remember long after your event.

Biography

We are Alex and George, father-and-son duo, and we love entertaining – we love sharing our magic enjoyed by all, having a laugh with our eccentric sense of humour, and spending time together. For more than 15 years, we’ve been touring the country sharing joy, laughter and magic.

“I love comedy and magic, and the slightly chaotic, alchemical, and artistic energy that combining them brings.
“One of my first memories was watching a Monty Python VHS (yes, I am that old) over and over and over again until I had memorised the scripts and coul ... d quote them to my school friends at lunchtime. The teachers weren’t happy, but all my mates knew about the troubles of having a dead parrot.
“I didn’t really do well at school, apart from History and Drama (and maths, but that’s a different set of equations), so when I had the chance to go to the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama, I jumped at it. I was soon swept up in the arts, theatre and storytelling, and I adored every second of it. Magic got slipped into the mix when my dad, George, showed me how to do a few of his tricks, and I have never looked back ever since!
“Taking my inspiration from Python, Spike Milligan, Eddie Izzard, The Mighty Boosh, The Beatles, Terry Pratchett, and many more, the mix of funny, silly, absurd and amusing things that I do whilst performing all have an underpinning of hope, childlike innocence and joy.

“I worked in the NHS as a psychologist for many, many years, and when I hit my 50’s, I decided it was time to grow up and get a real job – so I became a comedy magician!
“In the early 1990’s I started working with young kids who were labelled with all sorts of negative stereotypes (hard to place, vulnerable, disaffected etc.) and I had to find a way to connect with them more than other psychologists had. I discovered that showing them magic, and then teaching them how to do the tricks, actually got through to them and gave them skills like communication, confidence and clarity with what they wanted to do in their lives.
“A number of years later, after leaving my day job behind, I decided to channel this love of magic, together with Alex my son, into a full time excuse for playing with tricks and toys.
“I’ve always been a fan of comedy, and I realised that I could make others laugh as well as learn through magic. So that’s where I am now: helping others, having fun, still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, and working with Alex. I am very lucky to be here, and I hope I can share some of my comedy and magic with you very soon.”
