Hi, I’m Dr. Tanie Hotan, also known as The Dancing Doctor.
I’m a well being facilitator, movement specialist, and Latin ballroom student currently competing in ProAm events across the United States.
As a nationally ranked ProAm Latin ballroom dancer, I bring the joy of movement to life on stage through student showcases, wellness programming, and dance based entertainment. My background in medicine and holistic wellness informs every part of my practice blending science, creativity, and rhythm to uplift and inspire.

Dr. Tanie Hotan is a movement specialist, wellbeing facilitator, and nationally ranked Latin ballroom pro-am competitor. With a rich background in hip-hop performance—including touring with SOUL (Sisters On a United Level), a Portland-based hip-hop funk ensemble—Tanie blends technique with deep cultural artistry.
Since 2021, she has competed across the U.S. in the NDCA Dancesport Pro-Am Latin division under the training of top professionals, including Mark Baker and Koros Academy. In 2022, she became the Pro-Am Latin Champion at the prestigious Ohio Star Ball.
Beyond the stage, Dr. T ... anie is a board-certified family physician and serves as a wellbeing facilitator at Santiam Hospital & Clinics. She is a passionate advocate for clinician wellness, leading retreats and workshops as a facilitator for The Lift Project. In 2025, she was honored by the Oregon Academy of Family Physicians with the “Primary Care Beyond the Clinic Walls” award for her innovative work in wellbeing services.​
She currently practices Family Medicine at the Aumsville Medical Clinic and serves as President of the Marion-Polk County Medical Society.​

I’ve had the opportunity to perform at a range of private and community events throughout the Pacific Northwest. Some of the spaces I’ve danced in include the Salem World Beat Festival, Silverton Art Festival, Amaterra Winery for PACCO’s 25th anniversary, Cubanisimo Vineyards, Illahe Country Club, and the Salem Convention Center.
Each performance is a chance to share movement as a celebration of culture, joy, and connection.
