Oasis was a popular English Rock band which was formed in Manchester in 1991 which originally featured Liam Gallagher, Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan and Tony McCarroll. Liam’s older brother Noel joined the band as lead guitarist and vocalist before the band were signed in 1993 to an independent record label. Oasis were part of the Britpop phenomenom with their immediate rivals Blur, Suede and Pulp and were often perceived as being the wildest of the bands being featured in tabloid newspapers plenty of times.
After a bit of a band shake-up in 2000, some members left while new members joined the band and they amassed a huge amount of success with record-setting albums and plenty of singles too. Many awards are to their name, including fifteen NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Awards and six Brit Awards! Unfortunately, Oasis were disbanded in 2009 after a massive amount of tension between the two brothers, however their music continues to be loved by many fans of all ages.
